DEVELOPMENT OF LOCAL SOURCES OF RAW MATERIALS
- Identification of potential producers of raw materials: leading preliminary data search, creating short lists of enterprises based on preliminary info, preparation of pre-audit risk analysis for a raw material/producer couple, making audit visits; presenting RC strategy and philosophy in the areas of pet nutrition, quality, food safety to prospective suppliers; communication of RC history, objectives and specific requirements which lay the foundation for long-term relationships.
- Working on prospection samples: ensuring in-bound flow of samples from prospective suppliers, determination of appropriate criteria for analysis,) timely and expeditious sending of prospection samples to RC authorized laboratories
- Introduction of necessary technological changes at suppliers under development
- Participation in the selection of producers/suppliers able to meet RC requirements in the areas of food safety, quality, sustainability, service, good manufacturing practice and able to comply with applicable legislation
- Transitioning of suppliers under development to a fully operational mode
- Development of new raw materials
RAW MATERIALS QUALITY MANAGEMENT
- Ensuring usage of the right specifications by suppliers and internally
- Risk assessment of raw material/producer couples
- Quality reviews and follow-ups of all raw material/producer couples
- Accumulation and proliferation of knowledge within RC Russia purchasing team & RC worldwide purchasing network
- Quality audits by external parties
LOCAL BUYING (CIS, BALTIC STATES)
- tracking and reconciliation of the forecast consumption volumes against existing stocks, existing outstanding contracts and new contracts
- good understanding and control of the real lead times and respective adjustments of the forecast lead times together with procurement function
- permanent interaction with procurement function to define accurately the volumes to be purchased
- good understanding and tracking of the trends on the markets of the raw materials in charge of
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT: Recruitment, Ensuring development of reporting associate(s), Associate engagement
Experience and education:
- University level education (4-5 years), ideally agro food, food, biological or chemical.
- Min 3 years of experience in a quality assurance position in a pet food, baby food, food, agriculture business.
Knowledge and skills:
- People management. Highest level of integrity. Passion for results.
- Deep knowledge of raw materials and food safety requirements. Knowledge of methods of analysis of raw materials, familiarity with respective laboratory equipment.
- Influencing, communication and negotiation skills. Energetic and passionate to take initiative.
- Well-organized, disciplined, attentive to details, persistent to achieve development goals.
- English: spoken and written obligatory. Russian: spoken and written obligatory. French would be an advantage.
Job context:
- Based in Royal Canin Moscow office.
- About 50% of travel time.
