To develop and implement marketing strategies and plans for ASICS contributing to the agreed business objectives we are looking to ASICS Marketing Manager Russia which is reports to the General Manager and Snr. Marketing manager EM. Manages communication, trade marketing, sports marketing, PR, training & education.
Results Fields:
Consumer Insights
- Is consumer centric. Understands the profile of consumer and potential consumer and champions this through the business.
- Is the acknowledged expert of the running & sport style consumer.
- Knows the consumer response to different marketing tactics and uses this insight to inform future planning.
- Manages research companies e.g. NPD
Analysis and Planning
- Develops and executes the annual marketing plan to achieve agreed value, profit and share objectives
- Has a thorough understanding of consumers, categories, competition and channels and uses this information to develop the brand/category plans.
- Works closely with Asics Europe B.V. and sales department to develop consumer segmentation and differentiated brand and category plans.
- Detailed understanding of brand/category numbers, revenue, volume, pre-orders, market share, ROI, consumer perceptions etc. Uses understanding to impact forward action.
- Detailed understanding and tracking of marketing KPI?s: awareness, additional equity, NPS and other
- Recommends and gains agreement to a full marketing plan – advertising, PR, trade marketing, promotion, grass roots etc. Ensures effective execution of this plan.
- Responsible for achieving the plans within the set budgets and timelines.
- Timely reviews of plans to senior managers identifying gaps, opportunities and learnings.
Leadership
- Managers, coaches and motivates direct reports.
- Executes personal development reviews and plans for direct reports. (HR policies)
- Takes personal responsibility for driving the ASICS marketing functions agenda.
- Sets and consistently communicates a clear vision and drives a culture of empowerment and accountability with our local markets.
- Sets clear goals and converts them into tangible business and brand results.
Strong and on-time execution
- Executes the yearly marketing plan on-time and within budget.

- Demonstrates results orientation – seeing projects through.
- Able to manage complex tasks and uses critical path to ensure all commitments are implemented.
- Regularly updates the General Manger & Snr. Marketing Manager EM highlighting corrective actions when required.
- Regular and timely reviews of key activities highlighting learnings and suggesting future action.
Leverages resource to achieve competitive advantage
- Builds strong relationships with internal (Asics Europe B.V., subsidiaries and global) and external contacts.
- Selects the best external resource and negotiates stretching formal agreements.
- Ensure external suppliers deliver on-time, in budget and to the required quality standard. Takes corrective action when required.
- Implements an effective appraisal system with external suppliers (e.g. advertising/PR/digital agencies)
- Is able to motivate suppliers to deliver above and beyond.
- Works with sales/trade marketing department to develop strong sell-in stories. Ready for seasonal EBM’s.
Communication
Internal: GM, Senior Managers, Sales, Product, Finance, Asics Europe B.V.
External: Advertising agencies, media agencies, brand registration companies, printers, translators, event agencies, PR agencies.
Job requirements
Knowledge and experience
• University degree or equivalent.
• > 8 years of relevant working experience (within a sport/consumer marketing function).
• Industry experience, ideally sport/technology brand/FMCG cosmetics
• People management +4 years.
• Passion for sports esp. running.

• Planning and organising.
• Leadership and people management.
• Strong influencing skills.
• Entrepreneurial and creative.
• Strong project management skills – sees things through to completion.
