Job Purpose
A vendor management role heavily involves working closely with vendors to make purchasing decisions and maintaining relationships with vendors for as long as the company uses them. Specific vendor management roles and responsibilities include communicating with vendors to ask any product or price questions, negotiating contracts to get the desired pricing, analyzing multiple vendors to decide which to use for a particular product and providing leadership over purchasing agents and buyers. This role requires you to be a good communicator and negotiator and have interpersonal skills to effectively maintain vendor relationships
Key Responsibilities - To deal with various vendors who provide different services to the organization
- To fix up meetings with the vendors in order to discuss about the products and services being provided by them
- To negotiate deals with the vendors after discussing and gaining knowledge about the services they would be providing
- To provide information related to the services that would be expected from the vendor and get the contract signed from him
- To see to it that the vendor provides the services committed by him
- To maintain a record of the vendor statement of work and other related documents
- Updating and renewing the vendor contracts
- To prepare vendor management programs and implement them
- To monitor the work done by the vendors. To ensure that the vendor provides quality products and services
- To evaluate the performance of the vendors
- Purchase of office IT equipment, server equipment, software and consumables
- Holding regular supplier reviews
- Increasing value delivered from our suppliers including negotiation of rates and prices with suppliers to ensure the best pricing
- Monitoring and assisting with supplier issues
- Coordination of supplier agreements between suppliers, legal department and related conditions (check supplier agreements periodically)
- Tracking and monitoring of payments of supplier invoices
- Interact with mobile operators to ensure corporate mobile communication of the company's employees are on the best tariff and any over spend is managed within company guidelines
Position Requirements - Proven track record, with a minimum of 2 years experience, in a multi-disciplinary IT environment
- Strong commercial acumen including demonstrable external contract or vendor management experience including contract negotiation, including experience in outsourcing and managed services
- Understanding of how to use SLA’s and other measures to drive vendor performance
- Understanding and experience of how to develop and manage strategic partnerships
- Understanding the evolving IT marketplace and how those opportunities and changes fit within the SCL environment – understanding the how to manage and bring in the relevant vendors to help drive more strategic or innovative discussions and decisions
- Awareness and understanding of licensing and support models (software and infrastructure)
- Demonstrable experience of building and maintaining a network of colleagues and contacts to achieve progress on objectives
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Advanced MS Office suite knowledge, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management and other staff
- Able to work autonomously and highly pro-active
- Experience of working in Banking or Financial Services environment
- Fluent in English
