Rosbank Wholesales has identified Sustainable Positive Impact Finance (SPIF) as a key axis of development and is looking for a SPIF structuring expert who will play a key role and support in the execution of the chosen CSR strategy.
Position
Within the Syndicated and Structured Finance team in Corporate Banking Department, the SPIF structuring expert will intervene both on CMIB (Capital markets products, i.e. green and social bonds) and Corporate scopes (sustainable, green and social loans/trade finance both in Moscow and in Regions) at the different steps of the SPIF process: initial evaluation of client/project/transactions from E&S point-of-view, their further structuring under SPIF angles, participating to the validation process of SPIF transactions, supervising the post-transactions processes, monitoring market trends and regulation, advising and training commercial teams on the topic.
Duties and Accountabilities
- SPIF transaction structuring role: assists the coverage in the structuring of all sustainable/green /social clauses in documentation of loans or trade finance products and validates these clauses on CORP side.
- Attribution of the SPIF internal label to transactions submitted by Coverage or by DCM: is one of the key validators in the SPIF label attribution process.
- Market intelligence: Identify and follow-up the SPIF transactions done on the Russian markets and the key initiatives taken by key players on that market.
- Involvement in regulation relationship and follow-up: participate to events and meetings organized by the Russian regulator (MOEX, CBR) on SPIF / sustainability scope. Follow-up all rules and guidelines linked to these sectors issued by Regulators (in particular all incentives concerning green and sustainable transactions) and communicate synthetically to Corporate Department and Capital markets teams on key regulatory changes and initiatives.
- SG group guidelines and instructions on SPIF: regularly liaise with the respective team in head office supervising all CSR matters for Russia and implemented when requested Societe Generale group SPIF guidelines.
- SPIF Advisory role: answer to all questions raised by corporate relationship managers and DCM on the origination and on the structuring of sustainable, green, or social transaction.
- Follow–up of the CORP exposure on SPIF loans and TF transactions and of the amount of SPIF bonds issued: report on a regular basis to CORP and CMIB management the outstanding exposure on SPIF loans and trade Finance transactions, as well as the existing nominal amount of SPIF bonds issued.
- Monitoring of use of proceeds in green products or fulfillment by Borrowers of green and social KPI’s defined in sustainable transactions.
- Control of the permanent appropriate SPIF profile of transactions: implement the appropriate controls in order to make sure that any granted SPIF loan/trade finance transaction or any green or social bond issued always respect all SG group and Rosbank SPIF criteria.
- Information and Training of CORP and CMIB teams: regularly sharing of information on SPIF market developments to other teams. Training of teams on important SPIF matters.
Requirements:
- Graduate/Advanced degree in relevant discipline (economics, corporate finance, capital market, ecology with experience in ESR rating advisory, or engineering).
- Minimum two years focus on ESG within overall minimum five years of relevant work experience in private sector (consultancy, bank, real sector companies).
- Experience to include:
- Evaluation of green, social, sustainable projects; involvement in risk analysis and mitigation; translation of ESG policies into internal operational procedures
- Advisory or structuring of sustainable/ green/social loans or bonds - the knowledge of both loans and bonds is required. Important knowledge in the environmental and social assessment of corporate clients would be highly appreciated;
- Or alternatively experience in external ESG-rating advisory or advisory of large corporate on CSR strategy as well as in-house managers on the topic.
- Driven self-starter with a high degree of responsiveness and proactivity.
- Strong organizational skills with to prioritize, deal with frequent unexpected and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Ability to synthesize and analyze diverse E&S and SPIF related data and information.
- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely in both spoken and written Russian and English languages is essential. French language skills will be advantageous.
- Good team player with strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team, work effectively in and influence a team, and network effectively across Rosbank Departments.
