Regulatory Affairs & Trade compliance Specialist (International pharmaceutical company), Heavy Medical Equipment
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Global Trade Compliance/Regulatory Teams and local resources,
including Sr Management, Legal, Commercial, Finance, Sourcing, etc. to drive
trade compliance/regulatory processes to ensure robust compliance management
that meets current requirements of Ru+ countries.
? Participate in regular meetings/trainings with the GTC/Regulatory Teams and
funnel down any communications and/or training to the relevant groups within the
local organizationregion and communicate any issues requiring escalation to the
global Teams.
? Work with the GTC/Regulatory Teams to implement companywide initiatives
relating to SAP roll-out, e.g. the Global Trade System (GTS) implementation, and
any automated GTS tools or systems implementations.
? Act as expert and keep abreast on local laws and regulations of Ru+ countries and
provide leadership and training to all businesses with transactions to or from RU+
? Understand and address all EU-US laws and regulations that pertain to the
businesses operating in the Ru+.
? Support site in internal assessments, desk audits, completion of post audit follow-
up actions and evaluate common themes in audits and develop programs to
proactively address issues in Russia.
? Manage Russia level standards and processes including customer screening, import
and export classification processes, compliance documentation, and listing of
controlled products.
? Mitigate risk to the organization through proactive process management ensuring
that all activities are carried out in accordance with Merck Life Science policies,
standards, and applicable laws in the area of import and export compliance. - Interface with freight forwarders, customs officers, custom brokers, internal and
external customers on all matters pertaining to customs and import and export
regulations.
? Executing activities relevant with import regulatory compliance including, but
not limited to product classifications, harmonized tariff classifications, country
of origin determination, import license applications, obtaining and reviewing
end use statements for import, sanctioned party list screening, regular order
check and release on GTS, compliance documentation, listing of controlled
products etc.
? Assists with responses to and data inquiries from internal / external customers,
foreign subsidiaries, distributors, vendors, brokers and carriers to ensure
compliance with all applicable import / export regulations
? Strong collaboration with other departments such as, but not limited to,
planning, procurement, product marketing, logistics, order entry, and
engineering functions is required
? Support the Global Trade Services (GTS) structure implementation in Russia
Profile: - Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience in the field or the
equivalent combination of education and experience.
? Must be proficient in Russian and English languages.
? Ability to travel.
? Significant computer experience including MS Office products and SAP Global
Trade Systems (SAP GTS)
? Ability to solve problems in a dynamic environment
? Must be a team player and self starter; high bias toward action
? Ability to multi-task, manage projects, prioritize work and handle ambiguity and
complexity
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Russian and English
Languages.
