Elsevier, a global leader in information and analytics, is looking for a Solution Business Development Manager of Life Sciences Solutions in Russia, Egypt, CIS & Middle East countries.
We’re hiring an experienced Business Development Manager who will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic sales plan that will expand Life Sciences Solutions portfolio in Russia, Egypt, CIS & Middle East countries in Corporate, Academic and Government markets. The role is expected to work collaboratively with a large and complex matrix of salespeople selling a suite of products with accountability for total new business revenue.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop and execute business development strategy and planning for achievement of new business revenue target of Life Sciences Solutions portfolio in the territory
- Create and execute the portfolio penetration plan in collaboration with the regional sales team
- Develop a deep understanding of the relevant customer segment the solutions are sold into, translating the solution value to be segment specific
- Identify and engage network of influential key opinion leaders, key institutions, domain societies and governmental influencers in key markets
- Develop a strong understanding of competitor landscape and be able to successfully position against these
- Negotiate and close contracts for new sales
- Provide continuous feedback to product and marketing teams and participate in projects to help marketing in meeting strategic sales objectives
Required qualifications and skills:
- Basic education in chemistry or an Advanced degree in chemistry Required
- Ph.D, Science or researcher background is a plus
- At least 5 years of sales experience; solid track of successful projects; experience in management will be a strong plus
- Background in complex solution sales approach – “Consultative Selling”
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills
- Preferred experience and knowledge of specific solution areas (competitive) in Life Sciences
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
- Fluency in English is a must. Arabic or Turkish is a plus
- Experienced working in an international matrix organization
- Advanced understanding of different international business cultures
- Self-starter
This job requires frequent traveling within the territory (up to 50% post-Covid).
