WHAT YOU DO:
Responsible for the running and upkeep of the local showroom, and for building and maintaining relationships with media, celebrities/celebrity agents and opinion leaders in order to guarantee product placement and credits for H&M. Works close to the local Fashion PR Manager on planning, executing and following up on locally and globally planned PR activities, primarily in connection to the showroom.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Showroom maintenance:
- Create and maintain an appropriate atmosphere in the showroom i.e. flowers, food, drinks and music;
- Keep the styling of the showroom and hanging of samples in accordance with the overall guidelines. Always see to it that the latest garments hang in the showroom and to take away samples with passed in-coming weeks;
Fashion PR and media contacts:
- Proactively contact journalists, stylists and the most influential fashion bloggers to offer samples fitting their upcoming editorial themes;
- Carry out appointments and/or small press events in the showroom together with your local Fashion PR Manager.
- Maintain and develop a network on your market with the appropriate fashion journalists, stylists, fashion bloggers, fashion network sites and other opinion leaders;
- Identify and monitor current and up-coming opinion leaders in your market and work proactively toward these;
- Manage ongoing contacts with your journalists/stylists/fashion bloggers to present the latest samples that will fit the profile of their magazine;
- Keep up to date with the latest trends and keeping an eye on the competitors on your market;
- Track interesting new magazines, newspapers, blogs, fashion network sites, radio and TV-channels to be able to be as visible as possible with H&M clothes;
- Track the fashion magazines’ editorial calendars/monthly themes for each season so that you know what the coming numbers will be about fashion wise;
- Be brand ambassador;
Showroom activities follow-up:
- Manage the PRA system locally, ensuring daily use and reporting of results to PR Manager as well as to HO;
- Monitor editorial fashion clippings and free publicity and register in the PRA system;
- Ensure that your local version of the quarterly showroom report including the most important fashion clippings are sent to Stockholm each three months.
- Maintain close contacts with your local visual department as well as with your local merchandisers to keep up with the latest H&M information;
- Always wear H&M garments in the showroom.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Depending on local organization, the showroom may take care of additional tasks such as for example:
- Manage local media monitoring and analysis (through subcontractors);
- Communicate H&M messages externally and internally in communications issues together with local PR Manager and HO;
- Manage local press activities including media selections, pitching, follow up, order and approve press material, proof-read press releases and other press material;
- Actively communicate H&M-related news like openings, new collections and events connected to the company externally as well as internally in accordance with set messages.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 1 year experience from similar positions and/or within the PR agency segment;
- Experience of strategic communication and PR;
- Good contacts and press relationships in fashion (essential) and interiors/celebrity, as well as knowledge of Corporate;
- Being an excellent communicator both oral and in writing;
- English level - Intermediate and more;
- Having a very good knowledge and high interest in fashion;
- Having a great fashion feeling and a sense of what is the right quality level;
- Good knowledge of the fashion media market;
