Position Description
DB Moscow IT group (part of GTB Core Banking – Emerging Markets) is looking for a senior full-stack programmer with main focus to java/Spring development with growing demand in front-end space (ReactJS, GWT).
The successful candidate will join a local IT team which covers DB Moscow local application landscape (organizationally being a part of Global IT team). Due to nature of the environment, person in this role will be working directly with Business / Operations / IT stakeholders, having a good mix of various tasks, developing of nice new features for our partners and clients, using up-to-date technologies, implementing best DevOps practices, providing SL3 production support with a portion of application management tasks.

- Leading db-CCM-RU application development and maintenance: hosted in DAP, build on SPRING/GWT frameworks few years ago, the application brings a huge business value for the Bank’s clients, providing a single access channel for Currency Control flow (Russian specifics) from client’s perspective. Aside from obvious application maintenance and bug-fixing, the business stakeholders have a constant demand to enhance the application, improving both client experience and integration features with DB applications.
- Active participation as a leading developer in local “New Mapping” strategic initiative aimed to reduce a complexity of current legacy landscape (DBI->BIS Mapping Reengineering): started about a year ago as a greenfield development on a “best-effort” basis and leveraging a modern technology stack (Spring Boot, Fabric, REST, messaging, etc) , the initiative became a one of TOP initiatives for DB Moscow for next few years with an ambitious goal for 2021 to reengineer at least 70% of current implementation build on an obsolete Progress 4GL technology.
- Active development of integration microservices under Benguela’s umbrella (self-made application set on JAVA, currently being migrated/developed to microservices/fabric architecture).
- Active contribution to planned & developed solution’s architecture: proposal / negotiation / agreement of conceptual vision with stakeholders. Depends on criticality and size of the change i (not limited by IT teams – business, operations, global architects, CISO, etc).
- Active contribution in implementation of a best DevOps practices.
- Participation in development of self-made front-end application (React.JS) to cover a growing demand from a business stakeholders as well as optimize internal IT processes, providing a user-friendly interface for some routine stuff.
- Education of more junior team members how to:
- use enhanced programming patterns
- optimize a code
- write good unit tests
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new functionality
- Working with the team on functional and non-functional requirements, technical analysis and design
- Coding and testing, reviewing other team member’s changes
- Document business and functional requirements, design decisions and API
- Co-working with QA team on test automation of new and existing functionality
- Contribute to the definition of the future state of the system architecture
- When product and architecture experience gained, mentor and direct more junior developers
- Application ownership
- Optimization of the landscape by implementation of system-to-system smooth integration and monitoring.
Experience / Requirements (Required)
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of core Java – 5+ years
- Good in Spring / Spring Boot – 2+ years
- Experience with modern Web UI technologies (ReactJS preferable) – 1+ year
- Experience with GWT front-end framework is plus.
- Experience with C# is a plus.
- Experience designing and implementing microservices.
- Experience with OpenShift / Kubernetes platform.
- Good knowledge of SQL
- Basic knowledge of Linux
- Modern SDLC toolstack - bitbucket Jira, artifactory, Jenkins/TeamCity, etc
- Good written and spoken English
