Corporate Services is one of the core departments of the British Embassy in Moscow. We are currently looking for a Support Officer to assist with a wide range of functions including Finance and HR. Our main aim is to ensure that corporate services are delivered to all staff across the Embassy to a high standard and in line with Foreign, Commonwealth and Development (FCDO) policies.
You will need to work to tight deadlines, show enthusiasm for working as part of a team and be ready to learn new tasks and cascade information.
This is a great opportunity to work with both internal and external stakeholders and to gain a strong knowledge of the HR and Finance system available to all staff. There are a number of key changes to internal systems being rolled out during the coming months and the successful candidate will help to drive forward these changes within the team.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Financial support (90%):
- Accounts Payable: timely processing of the incoming invoices via available banking platforms;
- Accounts Receivable: monthly reconciliation of the Bank Statements, Credit transactions;
- Running the Cash Office;
- Liaison with the bank on various matters including opening bank accounts for staff;
- Assistance with housekeeping of the financial data (Distribution Sets, Supplier Lists);
- Managing company`s bank signatories list;
- Housekeeping of the Corporate Services archives.
HR support:
- Handle daily HR enquiries;
- Assisting the Network stakeholders with implementing and coordinating HR policies/procedures.
Corporate Support:
- Oversight of the staff cost recovery process for phone, utilities and other internal services;
- Providing support with Corporate Services purchase to pay processes as necessary. (e.g. requisitions, activity recording etc.);
Acting as a Language Officer for UK-based staff; - Dealing with current School contracts for our UK based colleagues;
- Supporting Senior Management in Corporate Services as necessary;
- Other duties as deemed operationally necessary by the Head of Section.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
- Full professional proficiency in English and Russian, including excellent writing skills (written and spoken, minimum of C1 level for CEFR framework*);
- Previous experience in administrative roles;
- Strong attention to details and experience engaging customers and stakeholders;
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience:
- Basic knowledge of Accountancy / Finance;
- Human Resources (HR) experience.

The monthly salary for this position is 82,347 RUB gross, A2(L) level, paid 13 times a year.
