BPC group - IT company. We develop own products in the field of banking software.
We are looking for Technical writer.
Main Responsibilities and Deliverables :
- Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards.
- Gain deep understanding of products and services, and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content.
- Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of target audience, turning insights into language for user success.
- Develop and maintain detailed database of reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications.
- Evaluate current content and develop innovative methods for improvement.
- Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with various departments to understandproject requirements.
- Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write proceduremanuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
- Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage.
- Create and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organizational and legal standards and allow for easy data migration.
- Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation.
- Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
- Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions.
- Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.
- Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure and form documentation.
- Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team.
- Create documentation that clarifies BPC product's features and benefits.
- Work on requirements like content strategy or scoping out new products to ensure all necessary information has been included for users to understand what they're reading quickly.
Qualifications: - Minimum of a bachelor’s degree. The degree may be in the humanities (English or communications majors would be advantages) or the sciences (computer science or information technology majors would be advantages).
- At least three years’ experience working in technical writing (or a closely allied field such as instructional materials development) in a software development environment.
- Demonstrable spoken proficiency in English and Russian.
- Excellent written communication skills and good written communication skills in English.
- Experience in developing topic-based user assistance.
- Experience developing user assistance within a user-focused, task-oriented paradigm (employing user scenarios, role-based analysis, task analysis, etc.).
- Experience working with DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) or DocBook.
- Experience using help authoring tools such as Help & Manual, Oxygen XML Author, or MadCap Flare.
- Experience in computer-assisted translation environment tools such as memoQ and translation methodologies is advantageous.
- Experience in working in a multinational company with remote colleagues and subject matter experts.
- Experience developing documentation for the EFT (electronic funds transfer) or banking domains.
- Membership of a professional technical writing organization.
- Be detail oriented.
- Be able to work alone in a self-managed fashion, or collaborate closely with team members on topic-based user assistance.
- Be able to communicate effectively with collocated and remote subject matter experts such as business analysts, architects, developers, and project managers.
- Be able to estimate effort and be disciplined in delivering materials to deadlines.
- Be able to accurately track effort expended on projects.
- Ability to evaluate and analyze complex information and a natural desire to help people understand it.
