About International Montessori Center - Otrada (IMC-Otrada)

About Montessori Education
- Montessori is an innovative, child-centered approach to education. It was developed a century ago by Maria Montessori, a woman who was far ahead of her time. Montessori uses mixed-age classrooms, student choice of activity, uninterrupted blocks of work time, and a discovery model of education where students learn concepts from working with specially designed materials instead of direct instruction. Teachers and assistants do more observing than correcting of children.
The Parent/Infant Classroom
- The guide provides classes to children and adults using Montessori philosophy and methodology. A room has already been prepared, but will need general upkeep from the guide. Materials needed for classes, scheduling, and payments will be handled by IMC Otrada. This is a great position for someone interested in authentic, joyful Montessori.

Academics/Education
- We require AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) certification in 0-3. The guide should be fluent in Russian. Candidates speaking Russian and English will be given preference.
Personal Attitudes
- Montessori education is not the usual way of educating. Therefore, the ideal candidate will be honestly interested in doing things a different way. As any trained Montessorian will know, this position is great for people looking to do something out of the ordinary.
Learning and Development Opportunities
- Various seminars and trainings at IMC-Otrada will be provided for gaining advanced knowledge of Montessori education and philosophy. This is truly a position for someone interested in learning.
