PRACTICE AREA
BCG's Knowledge Team (KT) is looking to expand its team to support a growing regional business in Russia. It is seeking a strong candidate to fill a Knowledge Analyst position, to be based in Moscow. The Knowledge Analyst will be part of a global knowledge team and will contribute to BCG's knowledge sharing and development.
The Knowledge Analyst will interact largely with local case teams and use an extensive collection of internal and external information resources to gather, filter, synthesize, package and deliver information to case teams. Additionally, the Knowledge Analyst will help train new consultants and/or KT members on basic research techniques, industry/functional resources and BCG Navigator. The Knowledge Analyst is expected to work and support all industry/functional topics/requests within Russia, although priority industries are financial institutions, public sector, and health care. It is expected that over time the Knowledge Analyst will develop specialized expertise in databases and/or sub-topics, e.g., macro-economics, general government policies, industry topics, sectors.
ROLE SUMMARY
- Work with case teams on expert research and delivers original analysis and insights
- Provide thought partnership and expert source know-how to case & topic/sector teams
- Share topic/sector insights and points of view more broadly within the firm
- Gain expertise by conducting interviews at the end of a case
- Contribute to BCG's growing knowledge base
- Learn the business & build expertise
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with case (and proposal) teams
- Partners with case teams to identify and address critical knowledge needs
- Provides customized knowledge for client work, prepares accurate, well developed documents and charts
- Delivers original analysis and insights to case team, provides thought partnership
- With guidance from the Team Manager, identifies right expert & connects him/her with requestor
- Liaises with DRS or global colleagues to ensure that requests are appropriately answered
- With consultants, collects, synthesizes, analyzes case team learning & inputs into new knowledge products (vignettes, experience)
Work with topic/sector teams
- Builds and updates new topic/sector-related customized knowledge products
- Controls KM databases consistency
- Reviews knowledge products & ensures they are current & relevant and updates when appropriate
- Assures proper sign-off before uploading materials into KM & contributes to sanitization
- Writes abstracts & indexes projects & PA documents
- Collaborates on PA intellectual capital development such as Tier 1s
- Contributes to content development around topic/sector for PA meetings & trainings
REQUIREMENTS
- 1-2 years business/desktop research exposure within Russian markets (open for all industries); preference for digital and health care exposure
- Advanced degree with demonstrated high academic achievement, preferably in business administration, finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, engineering or other related fields
- Fluent in English and Russian
