The Data Warehouse (DWH) and BI development and support Team Leader / Chief Data Officer is to be responsible for the leadership of DWH/BI team in insurance company on the way of digital transformation considering that data is a central asset for the company.
This position required strong experience of work in matrix organizational chart, considering cross-function reporting.
Responsibilities:
DWH/BI development and support Team Leader role responsibilities, reporting to CIO (70% of the workload):
- Coordinating team of DWH and report developers as a team-leader;
- DWH, BI and Data Governance Strategy development according to PMBoK methodology and support;
- Designing Corporate DWH and Data Management System architecture. To be involved in several big projects of DWH and BI system development as an architect, technical expert and as a PM, coordination of Agile Team as a Scrum Master.
- Vendor management, tenders coordination, RFP preparation;
- Implementation Corporate Data Quality Process from the scratch;
- Quality Assurance management;
- Coordination of DWH transformation strategic initiative;
- Reporting and analytic system development (Cognos);
- Business and system analysis;
- Generating project documentation according to LCM methodology.
Responsibilities, reporting to CFO (30% of workload):
- Propose and implement data policy and data governance;
- Align and standardizing data models;
- Define data structure, validation rules and data quality measure;
- Improve data quality: organize, implement and lead the processes of permanent data cleaning;
- Define data access rules, roles and procedures;
- Improve how data is collected, used, managed, and published;
- Lead the company efforts to track data collections, data purchases, databases, physical data models, and linkages between datasets;
- Ensure data is available, reliable, consistent, accessible, secure, and timely;
- Decrease the cost of managing data and increasing the value of current data.
Requirements: - Higher technical education – in mathematics, computer science;
- BI & DWH development Team Lead experience (2-5 persons) in area of risks reporting, scoring calculation and operational reporting, planning, team’s tasks flow management and control;
- Experience in creation/development of corporate (DWH) and related analytical (BI) system more than 3 years, complex DWH/BI platform architecture design;
- Business requirements analyses, architecture design, proposed decision promotion / defend skills;
- Understanding Data Vault, Anchor Modeling, «stars», OLAP-cubes, their advantages / disadvantages, patterns of using, data base structure/model design skills;
- DWH development (ETL, reporting), MS SQL Server 2012 and upper, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS services experience and knowledge;
- Data warehouse/storage: MS SQL Server 2012 and upper, data collection, statistics, processing: Integration Service, stored procedure, reporting: Reporting Services, Analysis Services;
- Skills of ETL-solutions automation using scripts, function integration to DWH
- Good knowledge of T-SQL, stored procedures, presentation, complex SQL requests and their optimization;
- TFS (or other VCS) platform;
- Users and technical documentation writing;
- MS Word, Excel, Power Point, QlickView application reporting development / support experience;
- MS SQL administration and optimization skills, indexation, analysis of request execution plans, Maintenance Plans;
- Practical knowledge of using CASE-tools;
- Advanced communication and business correspondence skills;
- Basic knowledge of C#, IBM Cognos BI; ITIL; PMBOK, SCRUM are the advantage;
- Mobile application development experience will be a plus;
- Willingness to move from pure technical role to a more strategic position;
- Understanding the central role of data in a modern company;
- Master Data Management solution.
