GENERAL SUMMARY:
- The Country Sales Manager is responsible of the implementation and the execution of the Brand Sales and Marketing Strategy within the assigned Country, reaching Sales Target and KPI, applying the agreed marketing/distribution strategy and developing the market evaluating the timely adjustment of sales plans to meet changing conditions.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Strategy
- Prepare and own the Strategic plan for his/ her region holistically, in order to make the brand the dominant outdoor player in the country.
- Be the point person to drive the brand across commercial, brand and retail department.
Revenue
- Plan, control and direct activities of the field sales force to hit the sales target and the desired profit margins.
- Prepare appropriate budget for departmental operating expenses.
- Prepare sales forecasts for use in budgeting, planning, production and control of inventories.
- Responsible for market analysis of respective country, in order to establish pricing strategy and quantify opportunities.
- Key person to negotiate yearly account contracts, keeping general brand guidelines and EMEA standard terms and conditions.
- Monitor together with Credit Department financial stability and payment discipline of accounts.
Process
- Execute a structured selling process serving all key accounts and field accounts in an efficient and successful way.
- Conduct continuing appraisal of pricing and other sales policies and procedures.
- Responsible that company procedures and sales conditions are respected.
- Recommend changes that would improve the effectiveness of achieving the objectives of the company.
Consumer marketing
- Development of brand positioning and architecture
- Quantitative and qualitative research
- Pre/post campaign evaluations
- Consumer promotions and in-store merchandising
- Agency / Supplier management
- Ability to influence and persuade through a matrix structure
Distribution
- Establish and maintain top level contact with the management of existing and potential customers.
- Segment and differentiate the distribution strategically, create and maintain the base for sustainable growth.
- Build a strong key account relationship to drive long term strategic growth.
- Lead and direct sales education of all retail customers together with all sales representatives.
- Ensure services offered to accounts (seasonal window execution, POP, etc) are executed.
- Guide and lead all Sales Reps, Key Account Managers and Rep within the country and make sure revenue targets are met and brand presentation standards are in place.
People
- Manage the team including interviewing, hiring and training the sales force. Coaching, motivating and managing the Sales Rep/Key Account Managers, Reps in line with the yearly and seasonal GTM objectives
- Conduct yearly performance plan and appraisal meetings via Performance Valley, tracking performance, providing ongoing feedback rewarding strong performer and addressing any performance issues.
QUALIFICATIONS Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of five years of related experience in the Outdoor or Sporting Good sector; or the equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information. Proven ability to motivate and lead the sales team.
- Experience in developing and implementation of sales and marketing strategies.
- A degree in Economics, Business, Merchandising, or related field.
- Sound knowledge of Windows software packages including Excel, Word and Power Point
- Russian language is a must. Ability to communicate in English is essential. Other European languages a plus.
- European travel required.
- An interest or active participation in outdoor sports and activities would be a benefit but not essential.
