Williams Lea Tag seeks a Category Manager to join our team!

An Overview:
The strategic sourcing team’s role is distinct from that of the operational Buyers located at client sites. Our role is to set the sourcing strategy for Williams Lea Tag and to implement that strategy by consolidating spend into a right-sized vendor base, selected to meet the diverse needs of our clients. We work our vendor panel to drive and deliver continuous improvement, sustainable cost reduction and innovation and effectively communicate this to our internal and external clients. Other key considerations for our clients, in addition to value creation, are corporate and social responsibility, management of risk and security of supply.
The Job:
The main purpose of this role is to implement agreed category strategies to give Williams Lea competitive advantage in the relevant categories, support category managers in sourcing and managing Eastern European suppliers, and build and maintain relationships with key suppliers. The Category manager will communicate a sourcing strategy and competitive advantages to internal and external audiences, especially suppliers. You will support site teams in delivering value to clients and exceeding their expectations. You will also work with site teams to resolve operational and tactical issues as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial
You will support the Category Lead / Director in delivering and exceeding category budgets, implement agreed category strategies, and support creation of vendor panel to deliver and exceed contracted savings. You will also support new business opportunities, in particular exercises for potential clients and negotiations with key vendors.
Operational
The Category Manager will implement best practice as laid out by the Category Lead / Director, actively execute best practice strategic sourcing and vendor selection across all Williams Lea Tag account teams in your sector, and utilise best-practice procurement process: e-RFP, e-Auction, post e-Auction negotiations etc. You will ensure robust auditing and performance management across the vendors in your sector, ensure vendor contracts support client contracts, and mitigate contractual risk. You will work with Account Managers and Site Team to ensure the smooth running of vendor panels and resolve tactical and operational issues with site teams.
People
You will ensure personal development to succeed as a vendor manager and agree key objectives and personal development plans with the Category Lead / Director
Business Development Support
You will work with CSMs and AMs to support account development. You will articulate strategic sourcing capability and competitive advantage to suppliers and input as a key Subject Matter Expert for sector RFP responses and pitchbooks.
The Fit:
To be successful in this role an essential criteria is experience of relevant POS and Print categories including a broad network of appropriate contacts. You will have strong commercial acumen with excellent supplier facing and communication/influencing skills. It is essential that you are fluent in both English and Russian, and a further European language is preferable. You must have at least 3-5 years’ experience in buying or manufacturing of relevant items including 2D and 3D temporary and semi-permanent POS.
You possess outstanding drive, passion, and enthusiasm with strong knowledge and experience of relevant categories including a broad network of appropriate contacts. You will have a track record of negotiation skills with exceptional personal integrity. The following attributes are not essential but seen as advantageous:
- Track record of previous roles in both supplier and client organisations
- Experience in a fast moving, commercially challenging organisation
