Position Purpose & Summary:
Cargill Animal Nutrition EMEA is comprised of three sub regions – West, East and MEA. Each of these sub-regions has market structures regionally around the globe with a Managing Director or Regional Managing Director who holds the P&L responsibility for that market. In-Market structures sub-regionally comprise customer-oriented functions, including Pricing.
Senior Pricing analyst is a member of the in-market pricing function and reports to the sub-region Pricing Lead. Senior Pricing analyst develops & maintains commercial analysis capability within set geography, segment, specie and enables transparency of pricing process performance & effectiveness.
Works closely with Commercial Leadership, Pricing organization, Finance & IT to create analytical capability within commercial domain, to grow top line.
Accountable for pricing technology & process maintenance and improvement, ensuring those work effectively and efficiently, including participation in projects across EMEA, dedicated to deployment of new processes and technology related to pricing.
Principal Accountabilities:
50% Own pricing analysis and market intelligence framework in country / segment / specie
- Using thorough knowledge, executes and implements marketing analytics for a specified business, segment, specie with limited oversight from more senior team members
- Responsible for core insight analysis
- Executes and leads analytics activities to support the sales and marketing teams to drive efficiency and effectiveness (e.g. sales management reporting, market share reports, territory planning, sales goals, commissions, conversion rate and customer segmentation models).
- Gathers, analyzes, and presents appropriate data and analytics to an internal audience to inform and influence internal decision making.
- Identifies, leads, and executes studies to inform and influence customer’s buying decisions and to differentiate Cargill as a partner of choice.
- Responsible for leading, analyzing and executing analytics to evaluate business issues and identify opportunities. For example:
- Point of sale analysis
- Shelving, distribution, prices, and inventories
- Create the full price waterfall for the business, including all on and off invoice discounts and ideally cost to serve elements, provide transparency to the business, and drive continuous margin management/customer profitability process
- Create a reporting cadence and dashboard to identify potential issues/opportunities to market leadership for potential action
- Gathers, analyzes, coordinates and may present appropriate data and analytics to inform and influence internal decision making.
30% Work on continuous improvement of pricing process and technology framework
- Supports development of marketing analytics projects and processes
- Develops and manages the execution and implementation of marketing analytics projects
- Accountable for digital strategy development in pricing
- Participate in EMEA projects related to improvement of pricing process and technology framework
- Responsible for cost estimating and tracking for projects
20% Work as pricing technology tag
- Act as super user for PROS, LEAP, SAP, Market intelligence tools
- Ensures 1st level system support for pricing professionals in using pricing related technologies
- Lead change requests & configurations necessary to implement in pricing technologies
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a Business, Finance, Economics or Agriculture related field;
- 5+ years professional experience in working experience, ideally within pricing, marketing, merchandising, sales, and/or finance;
- Soft: communication skills, change management skills, ability to collaborate and influence within a process-honoring organization, strong analytical skills, affinity for numbers;
- Hard: quantitative ability to direct and interpret detailed analysis; Excel, Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, PROS, LEAP;
- English at advanced intermediate level
- Understanding of (agricultural) commodity markets;
- Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or other quantitative field; FP&A background is a plus;
- Strong working knowledge of Tableau, Power BI and PROS;
- Strong knowledge of Alteryx, SQL, R, or other programming and database tools
- Knowledge of nutrition, customers of AN&H, segmentation & products is a plus
