To be prepared for this, and to ensure that our expertise is aligned with our customer needs, we’re now looking for a talented Channel Manager.
Key performance areas
In this key role, the Channel Manager will manage Sales of Sandvik Coromant products to customers through nominated distributors, dealers, retailers or other channel partners within an assigned cluster/market. Partnering with distributors to retain and grow profitable business with existing customers and generate profitable sales from new customers. Collaborate with channels to maintain and grow profitable sales in low touch customers. Development of channel sales representatives on our products and services. Drive channel marketing plans and initiatives. Work directly with end-user customers if market conditions warrant. This is a field-based role which requires travel time up to approximately 50%.
Your mission
Account planning and execution
- Grow and maintain retention of sales at low touch customers or customers, requiring specific approach
- Implement and maintain an account plan for business development of classified sales channels and end users
- Develop good working relationships with classified sales channels to maximize profitable sales of Sandvik Coromant products
- Inform classified sales channels and end users of new product/service introductions
- Remain aware of customer needs regarding price, delivery and product offerings, and work with appropriate classified channels to leverage this knowledge to best serve the customer and obtain the most profitable business for the Company.
- Collaborate with Marketing Department to drive marketing activities
General management and administration
- Evaluate authorized and prospective distributors; supply data and recommendations to Sales Management and Strategic Relations regarding the appointment or the discontinuance of existing authorized distributors
- Execute the national channel strategy locally with collaboration with the Strategic Relations Team
- Work closely with Channel Marketing Manager on the Channel Marketing Strategy
- Advise and consult with Sales Management on the planning and execution of sales programs, policies, procedures and problems related to Sandvik Coromant product sales
- Keep informed on competitors’ activities by gathering data and making observations; recommend actions necessary to mitigate competitive activity
- Meet goals for product sales, sales volume, and A&S expense
- Prepare weekly itinerary call reports, test reports, expense accounts and other reports in a timely and accurate manner
- Рerform sales administration tasks including, but not limited to, submission of drawings for approval, order input, return material authorization (RMA), and requests for training in a timely and accurate manner
- Understand OUR customers’ current and future needs and the driving forces behind them, and develop a way of working to proactively provide the right solution to OUR Customers
- Challenge current way of working; promote new initiatives and initiate action.

Global sales strategy management and execution
- Share and support global sales channels strategies at the cluster level
- Collaborate and report out on global sales channels KPIs
- Participate and contribute to global channels workshops
- Participate in global sales channels resource and budgeting planning activities
Your profile
Five years or more experience managing customer relationships, ideally via distributors, in a sales capacity, including communicating, presenting, and negotiating. Experience in modern materials, machining characteristics and practices, including theory and practical applications of cutting tools and modern metal cutting processes. Experience in channel marketing preferred, but not required. Additionally, you have experience in sales management, negotiations, CRM, and sales planning. An understanding of fundamental marketing practices. You understand the basic principles of manufacturing processes, materials and machining applications and eBusiness Solutions. You have well-developed communication and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people from different settings and organizational levels. Fluent in English and Russian both verbal and written. Possess a degree or equivalent qualification in Applied Science, Business or a related field. A valid driver’s license is required.
