Uzum is a brand-new technological company born in Uzbekistan seeking to build the gateway for digitalization of commerce and financial services in our home market. We are developing a full-blown ecosystem of services, combining a marketplace where a customer can order thousands of goods at affordable prices with a next-day delivery, a digital bank with an instant access to a wide range of financial services as well as other brand-new innovative products. Our Strategy and M&A team sits at the very core of Uzum and makes a strong impact for the Company’s success via strategy formulation, execution of strategic transactions and complex problem solving. Currently we are looking for a strong candidate to join the team and play an integral role in the projects related to M&A, commercial partnerships, market/equity research and fundraising. You will have an exposure to the top-management team and have a chance to a take a leading role in strategic development of a leading digital ecosystem in the Central Asia Region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participation in team projects (M&A, commercial partnerships, strategic development, etc.)
- Preliminary analysis and execution of M&A transactions
- Active participation in due diligence process
- Communication with external advisers
- Preparation of analytical presentations, market analysis, ad-hoc research tasks
- Preparation of complex financial / operational models
- Valuation / fundamental analysis of potential investment opportunities
- Origination of new investment opportunities
Key Requirements:
- Excellent financial modelling skills
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance and valuation
- Knowledge of M&A transaction documentation
- 3-5 years of previous experience in investment banks; PE / VC funds; internal M&A corporate development departments
- Experience with IT / tech related companies or with investment funds focused on tech industries is preferred
- Critical thinking, high motivation, strong team player
- Fluent English (verbal and written)
- Multitasking and self-starting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
