Role Description
The objective of the Category Manager is to develop a profitable Assortment and Partnerships with the Strategic Suppliers by strategic thinking and acting, managing the teams and actions and realizing the KPI’s.
Areas of accountability
Strategy
- Creating, aligning and Execute the complete Category Strategy & Business Plan.
- Define the strategic direction and align this with Senior Sales & Category Management Teams
- Create Team awareness on main Strategic trends and developments in markets, product groups and applications
Assortment
- Profitable development (Turnover and Margin) for the Product Category Assortment
- Coordinating the development of the Global Strategic and Private Branded Assortment
- Support in Launch of new Global (Private Branded) products ranges.
- Prioritize Assortment Development Projects in the team
- Coordinates Product Life Cycle Maintenance within the Product Category
Supplier Management
- Develop Profitable Partnership Models with our Suppliers
- Setting the framework and priorities to realize strategic supplier relationships/partnerships.
- Management of all Strategic Supplier Relations including all required activities such as negotiations and administration (Lead Buyer)
Cooperation
- Creating synergy within the entire organization by striving for optimal performance, connections and mutual commitments between individual business units.
- Manage proper communication and alignment with other important (sub-) departments.
Team Management
- Manages the ‘Support Team’ and prioritize and delegates the actions/projects resulting from the yearly Business Plan
- Leading in executing the Kramp Way
- Development and coaching of the employees
Project owner/manager for Product Management related projects.
Realizing relevant KPI's.
Job requirements
- Master degree in a commercial or technical area.
- 3 Years+ working at Agri/Wholesale Industry
- A minimum of ten years of working experience in a Strategical product management position
- Experience in supplier negotiations
- Excellent knowledge of procurement processes, markets and Product/Market Combinations.
- Strong Leadership skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and preferably good in German, French and Dutch.
