Role Description:
IT Application Owner/SL3 Manager supports the IT Application Lifecycle by ensuring that ongoing enhancements and maintenance is completed for stack of critical trading applications (FARM, CurveEngine, Autobahn FX).
The main focus is to guarantee the production system stability through SL3 and ITAO activities including accomplishing IT Audit requirements and appropriate IT security safeguards.
Technology-wise applications are distributed system, consisting of several backend services, client libraries and frontend applications. The backend components are written in pure Java and based on technologies such as low latency messaging, distributed caching providing high availability to the platform. Frontends are rich client applications build on Java Swing.
Applications are used by Deutsche Bank traders to configure pricing models and provide Foreign Exchange pricing for Autobahn platform that is facing more than 15000 users both internal and external. Applications deployed across 8 data centers located in 4 geographical regions and have multiple stakeholders - traders, sales, SL1 and SL2 teams.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure system stability through enhancement/maintenance periods
- Ensure availability of all necessary application/service knowledge and documentation
- Accountable for the ongoing enhancement and maintenance of applications including IT Audit requirements and appropriate IT security safeguards
- Ensure policy-compliance for different external and internal requirements including Audit
- Work with development and infrastructure teams on prioritizing work and resource allocation where necessary
Experience / Requirements:
Required Experience/Skills
- Basic technical background about infrastructure - servers, storages, networks, databases
- Basic SQL
- Unix knowledge
- Basic knowledge of some programming language (Java preferred)
- Excellent communication, collaboration and project coordination skills
- Ability to influence and persuade stakeholders primarily from support, audit, security, legal and compliance groups
- Fluent English — both verbal and written
- Structured approach in work
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
Preferred Experience/Skills
- Interpersonal skills. Communicate with very different people stating from very technical engineers and support staff to senior management
- Understanding application development life-cycle
- Eager to learn about new technology and gain new skills as required
