Job Purpose
The jobholder will globally lead, drive and provide expert support and development skills for all Mars scheduled applications batch jobs execution across all production landscapes. She/he will be globally accountable for infrastructure architecture, operation and strategy definition of all environments related to job scheduling technologies, leading support activities to keep the environment optimally tuned.
It is also part of she/he responsibilities project management, architecture and Continuous Improvements leadership.
The job scheduling services must deliver the agreed service level expectations as delivered through a combination of internally and externally services and partnerships. As part of IT operations – Service Control Center organization, act as the “manager on duty” for the global team on the region, performing the appropriate handover process among regions providing visibility of all technical issues and/or hot topic in a cross functional way (Monitoring and Alerting and backup).
You will do:
- This role creates and execute global batch management strategy including technology roadmap, policies & process, execution workload and tuning;
- Drives continuous improvement of services, to both increase efficiencies & ensure alignment with changing business needs;
- Be connected to the market and industries innovation, deploying new solutions in our environment delivering new features and improving our efficiency utilization;
- Influence global application owners and business functional experts on the best execution mapping and scheduling for job/batch process looking for maximizing processing capacity of the hosting solution, avoiding execution redundancies and promoting a continuous clean up (housekeeping) on the landscape;
- Create the architecture and interface mapping necessary to build, implement and operate all critical application jobs in case of a contingency (manual execution) respecting execution sequence set by each global application owner and interdependency;
- Create, review and maintain the inventory of business jobs and its expected SLA’s to support the ongoing track of this metrics;
- Act as a single point of contact in new deployments to be “productionized” respecting all critical criteria (e.g. alerts, triggers and return codes to enable troubleshooting, etc.) ensuring new systems will be deployed accordingly to the standards;
- Perform preventive actions to mitigate impact of job processing when facing systems disruptions (e.g. DR situation, jobs depending on data other systems, etc.);
- Publish the “Control dashboard of critical business jobs” on a daily basis to enable management traceability of all executions and trend analysis with key tier III teams;
- Propose improvements based on the operational knowledge and metrics (e.g. investment in organic growth based on current use and trends);
- Perform preventive actions to avoid business disruptions (e.g. lack of triggers, files, perform heath check on the underlying infrastructure and check critical processes are running accordingly to the expectations);
- Ensure prompt reaction during business disruptions, attending crisis calls as the single business job owner with autonomy to propose remediation actions to either fix the situation or to mitigate the impact of missing any critical business SLA’s;
- Ensure the operations handover between regions is being performed accordingly to the expectations and it is including the heath condition of the critical business jobs;
- Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders as the technical leaders for infrastructure and applications teams in different regions to streamline the resolution of issue and sustain the operational stability thru preventive actions;
- Deliver operational service levels, providing visibility to customers with reporting and metrics;
- Ensure automation and streamlined support processes (ITIL) are implemented;
- Develop direct reports and work in collaboration with peers in different region to sustain the global and cohesive operation. Recruit, develop, coach, motivate and lead a team of associates to highest standard of performance;Development of direct reports through objective setting and progress reviews. Provide alignment of team members’ objectives with the goals and objectives of the overall organization;
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills, including good conflict management and an ability to work well with people from different countries and cultures.Manages and develops a global team of associates. - Manage third parties vendors and/or operations offshore delivery management, ensuring that the SLAs will be met and the service delivery improved.
We expect:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience
- 5 + years of experience in IT infrastructure, including 3+ year of technical leadership experience and direct experience in mission critical operations – systems impacting order to cash and customer services;
- Experience in analyzing critical data and forecasting trends to support continuous improvement projects;
- 3 + years of experience in administrating Tivoli Workload Scheduler™ or similar scheduler tools;
- Demonstrated influence skills under pressure conditions to lead crisis and drive people toward a faster workaround and a long-term resolution of the root cause;
- Comfort working in a global environment across multiple cultures and time zones.
