Our client is a multinational company, on behalf of them we are looking Vice-General Manager for their Tashkent office.
Responsibilities:
- The position has direct accountability for driving and sustaining business growth and profitability in Uzbekistan in line with the corporate goals.
- The incumbent is in charge to develop the organization to support the entire business: Sales, Back Office, Front office, Marketing, Supply chain.
- The incumbent is in charge to prepare and implement the appropriate strategy to quickly ramp up the top line.
- Even though Finance and Human Resources are not directly reporting to the position, the incumbent must work closely with then to develop the right strategy and recruit the right talents.
- The incumbent is accountable for leading and driving business activity of the company established by the Company and partners by developing, operating and maintaining certain industrial gas assets and projects in Uzbekistan.
- The role actively supports and sets expectations for supporting functions (e.g. SBS, HR), prioritizing actions and resourcing for the achievement of profitable growth and cost targets and meeting the corporate objectives in the areas of EH&S, Diversity, customer loyalty and quality.
- To contribute to the annual plan for the sub region and develop tactics to ensure the targets are achievable.
- To deliver stretching EBITDA, sales and profit targets on an annual basis, with the capability to anticipate and adapt to a changing environment .
- To develop and motivate the region team to ensure they are equipped to meet the demands of the business now and in the future.
- To develop and maintain a robust customer network both directly and through the wider salesforce, identifying opportunities to enhance customer engagement.
- To support and keep safety philosophy.
- To place and grow successor starting from the employment date.
- Full P&L responsibility.
- To recruit talent to fill the gaps.
- Work on development strategy for Uzbekistan via geographical expansions and acquisition.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years working experience in Uzbekistan as resident.
- Fluent in Uzbek, Russian and English.
- Broad technical and managerial skills.
- A good basic finance understanding.
- Excellent “influencing” skills are required to work closely with government bodies to develop the business and to develop the standards.
- A good understanding of the Merchant Business from Operation and Sales to customer delivered.
- A technical degree with 15+ years’ experience is required. Minimum 10-15 years of leadership experience.
- The incumbent is expected to work with full autonomy in fulfilling the duties of his role.
- Experience of managing and being accountable for full P&L and project financials (i.e. discounted cash flows, leverage points etc.).
- Evaluating significant new business opportunities.
- Previous experience in four of the following: sales management, business development, cost-side experience (i.e. Procurement, Energy, etc.), operations management, distribution, and customer demand in shorter cycle businesses and ones with long-term contracts.
- ‘Hands on’ leader able to engage, coach and inspire the team.
- Key negotiator and figurehead.
- Good business acumen and understanding of financial reporting.
- Previous experience in the regional is a plus.
